Whether you’re managing notes, tasks, or entire projects—Amplenote stores a lot of valuable data. In this guide, you’ll learn how to enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) on your Amplenote account using an Authenticator App, protecting your productivity with added security.

Why Enable 2FA on Amplenote?

If someone gets access to your account, they could view your personal thoughts, project plans, or even passwords stored in notes. 2FA ensures that only you can log in—even if your password is stolen.

Step-by-Step Guide: Set Up 2FA on Amplenote

1. Log into your Amplenote account

Go to amplenote.com and sign in with your email and password.

2. Click your profile icon

It’s in the top-right corner. From the dropdown menu, select “Account Settings.”

3. Go to “Security”

Scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication section within your account settings.

4. Click “Enable 2FA”

A QR code will be displayed on your screen.

5. Open the Authenticator App

In your Authenticator App for Amplenote, tap the + icon and select Scan QR Code.

6. Scan the QR code

Point your camera at the screen to add Amplenote to your authenticator app.

7. Enter the 6-digit OTP

Your app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter it in Amplenote and confirm.

✅ Done! 2FA is now active on your Amplenote account.

Tips to Stay Secure

  • Save your backup codes in a secure location.

  • Avoid SMS-based verification—apps are more secure.

  • You can always revisit this section to disable or reset 2FA.
