Zapier helps you automate your workflows—but without proper security, your integrations could be at risk. That’s why enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is one of the smartest steps you can take. In this quick guide, we’ll show you how to secure your Zapier account using a trusted Authenticator App.
Why You Need 2FA on Zapier
Zapier often connects dozens of your accounts and apps. A single breach could compromise multiple platforms. With 2FA, you’ll ensure only you can access your automations—even if your password is leaked.
Step-by-Step: Set Up 2FA on Zapier
1. Log in to your Zapier account
Go to zapier.com and sign in.
2. Click on your profile icon
It’s in the top right corner. From the dropdown, select Settings.

3. Go to the “Security” tab
In the sidebar or tabs, locate the Security section.
4. Enable Two-Factor Authentication
Click on the option to enable 2FA. A QR code will appear.

5. Open your Authenticator App
Use the Authenticator App for Zapier, tap the + button, and choose Scan QR Code.

6. Scan the QR code
Point your phone’s camera to the QR code on your screen.
7. Enter the OTP code
Input the 6-digit one-time password (TOTP) generated by the app.

✅ Your Zapier account is now protected with 2FA!
Pro Tips for 2FA Users
Store backup codes in a password manager or secure location.
Always prefer app-based 2FA over SMS-based methods.
If switching phones, remember to export or re-add your codes.
