Securing your Uphold account with two-factor authentication (2FA) is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to prevent unauthorized access. This quick guide shows you how to set up 2FA security on Uphold exchange using a trusted Authenticator App.

👉 Download the Authenticator App here to get started in seconds.

Why Set Up 2FA on Uphold?

Passwords alone aren’t enough. Enabling 2FA on Uphold ensures that even if someone has your login details, they won’t be able to access your funds without a time-based one-time code generated by your Authenticator App.

Step-by-Step: How to Set Up 2FA Security on Uphold Exchange

1. Download a Trusted Authenticator App

Make sure you’re using a reliable TOTP-based app. If you haven’t already,

2. Log in to Your Uphold Account

Visit uphold.com and sign in.

3. Open the Security Settings

From your dashboard, go to the left-side menu, click Security, then tap on Two-Factor Authentication.

4. Choose “Authenticator App”

The default setting is SMS. Click the SMS option and switch to Authenticator App.

5. Verify via SMS

Uphold will send a 6-digit verification code to your registered mobile number. Enter it to continue.

6. Scan the QR Code

Open the Authenticator App, tap Add (+), and scan the QR code displayed on your screen.

7. Enter the Code

Enter the 6-digit code from your app into Uphold’s setup page. Click Verify.

✅ Done! Your Uphold account is now protected with 2FA via Authenticator App.

Final Tips

  • Save your recovery codes in a secure place.

  • Use an Authenticator App, not SMS, for stronger protection.

  • You can always re-scan the QR if switching devices in the future.
